Bonfim is perhaps the most central of all districts in Porto. The parish, which is the newest in Porto, has a population of 35,000.

Bonfim parish church, a beautiful monument dedicated to Our Lord of Bonfim e da Boa Morte, stands out as a jewel of local heritage. Constructed between 1874 and 1894, this church is one of many symbols of the history of this parish. The Fábrica Manuel Pinto de Azevedo, the Casa-oficina António Carneiro, Avenida de Camilo, the Sacais Estate, Liceu Alexandre Herculano, the Casa do Poço das Patas (Bonfim Parish Offices), the Santo António da Cidade Convent (Porto Public Library), the Casa Viúva Forbes dos Braguinhas (School of Fine Arts), the Casa dos Viscondes de Gândara and the Wright Estate (SMAS) are some of the other places that stand out in Bonfim, a parish that has developed over the years in a historical city with countless calling cards.
In addition to the large number of educational and commercial establishments, the parish also has a large number of collectives, which play an important role in the cultural development of the parish.

Bonfim still has avenues lined with 100-year-old trees (Avenida Camilo and Avenida Rodrigues de Freitas). The arrival of the Metro has made it even more desirable because of its extended road network and access points.
